When was the last time your feet kissed the earth?

As a career coach for working moms, I’ve seen first-hand how overwhelming the return to work can be, especially while trying to stay on top of every day life (and kids!). Grounding techniques—like simply walking barefoot in the grass—offer a powerful mental reset for women juggling career, family, and self.
In a world of constant stimulation and concrete, walking barefoot on grass can feel like rebellion—and relief. Known as grounding or earthing, this simple act connects you physically and energetically to the Earth’s surface electrons, helping to reduce inflammation, ease anxiety, and improve sleep.
Science backs it. Studies suggest grounding can balance cortisol levels, calm the nervous system, and even boost immunity. But beyond the biology, it’s an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and feel.
Here’s a simple practice: Step outside. Take off your shoes. Let your soles meet the soil. Breathe in. Be still. This is presence. This is enough. You can take it a step further by repeating an affirmation to yourself, an intention for the day or something you feel grateful for.
Try it today—even for five minutes. Let the Earth remind you what’s real.
